Ring Puzzle - Hanyama Cast Metal level 4

This puzzle is based on an original called the 'Puzzle Ring'. Popularized in 15th century Europe, this ring style was actually used for official engagement and marriage rings. Christian reformist, Martin Luther, was even known to wear one. It is rumored to prove as evidence of its wearer's adultery...when it comes apart into pieces. That's quite a history contained in this little puzzle.

Disk Puzzle - Hanyama Cast Metal level 6

The World Puzzle Designers' Forum, held in August 2000 in Los Angeles was where I first met my close friend Oskar. This puzzle is based on a disc based puzzle that he showed me at that time. Battling it out with this puzzle is like putting your mind to the test against one of the world's sharpest minds in Oskar. The idea to keep in mind here is 'circle'.

Ring 2 - Hanyama Cast Metal level 5

This is the second of the 'ring' puzzles. The five separate rings can be taken apart and put back together. This version has been changed a bit from the original made by Connecticut's Jose Grant. This puzzle has five rings, like the Olympic rings that stand the test of time. That is the basic concept behind this puzzle. This type of ring puzzle goes back at least as far as the 15th century, and is now remade with modern technology. Give it a go.

This puzzle stands for the tight bond holding together the hearts of lovers the world over. The first step is to free the gold and silver hearts from the chain. Once complete, you have to try your best to get them all back together. This puzzle, to be quite honest, is really tough. So... here's to success in love and in puzzles! This is even the kind of puzzle that I would recommend trying with - yes, you guessed it - a loved one.

Hanayama
Cast Cage

This brass puzzle was first introduced to me by Prague's own Professor Bakalar. I borrowed it in Atlanta and returned it to him in Luxembourg half a year later. While in my possession, I managed to replicate it, with full permission, of course. This Cast Puzzle version may even be better than the original. It definitely remains one of the more amusing puzzles. The key idea with this one is it's 'cage'.
